Concept for Site 2- 'Indoor Picnic'

We all need to start thinking about program for site 2- here is my opinion for it:

An idea I think may work on the site is the 'Indoor Picnic'.

Thanks to Vida and Ceci, who had great ideas for the picnic event for after party for the TravelDator- in terms of the food hubs and the social interaction between people moving between these hubs to get food. Its a shame we decided not to do their concept for the picnic- as alot of work to have it well designed and given the weather on the day it might not even go ahead- making it unfeasible.
It still however it is a great idea which should not be wasted- we can further develop the idea as an 'indoor picnic' at Anastasia's aunts house, the following are my reasons:

- It will give us the opportunity to build and design something physical- such as the food hub stands, floor mats, food serving options etc.
- We have time to find proper catering for the event.
- It is a new interpretation of a picnic as it is indoors- and there is no furniture in the house (so people can sit on the floor mats in small clusters etc.
- It will encourage small group like formations and cross mingling- so it is a new type of program in space. It is a new and different way of serving light refreshments in a house setting/ c and can encourage people to interact with people they dont know in a new way.
- There is kitchen to prepare food and drinks.
- We can take the picnic from indoors to semi outdoors by placing food in different zones of the ground floor- inside and the spa.
-We have control over the lighting, music, atmosphere of the space (unlike bad weather which is out of our control).
-It has a space/time/ motion element to it, similar to the travelator- so it can be seen as a development of the original idea.
- Unlike the travelator- the house allows unrestricted movement through space, so on the day of the event we could map/ film the way people move between the hubs (or if they dont and stick to only 1 type of food)- in any case it would make an interesting hypothesis.
- The central courtyard covered by glass walls allows people to see through to the outside and the kitchen area- so in a sense the food hubs can be seen from all angles of the ground floor.
- There is a good theoretical basis behind the concept to develop our hypothesis about social architecture.

Let me know what you think about this idea!
