A quick question regarding the catering for the afterparty.
Do you think that the after party is only for the 24 travel dater guests?
Or
Should we also be part of the afteparty making the total number of people at the picnic 40?
If we do it as a class- we will all probably also have to chip in for food money as we need to cater for 40 people.
Let me know your thoughts.
I think it should be for everyone, as it could be a bit awkward if its just the speed daters that are a part of it and for some reason theyre not getting along. as we'll all be there anyway, and if we're not a part of it, we'll probably just end up watching them... awkward for them... there will need to be some of us that are waiters or have some sort of role like that depending on the party style.
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought Mike is trying to get sponsors for the event (food/cash??) so that will reduce costs on us and the speed daters as well
We spoke about that also yesterday - We thought maybe have 2 options - maybe $25 for dating and after party and $20 for after party.
ReplyDeleteI agree it might seem a bit lame if it's just the same people from the dating to the after party.
We will need to be waitstaff at the event - make it a bit formal so we're not all just standing around watching.
I think it should be for everyone. I have a lot of mates who are unable to go to the speed date but love to come to the afterparty.

I'm not sure if we should extend the invite for others. Otherwise it can get out of control...
ReplyDelete1 or 2 friends can means we will be looking at 50-60 people! Unless we say, the late comers need to bring a plate of food or something... and yes i think that means we get involved in the party... its not like we are serving food or anything!
The party isn't for us though - It's for the people coming for the event - We need to keep it running and in control
ReplyDeleteyea, I still think we should invite more poeple to the after event to make some money, keep it as a mingle and meet space for those who didnt do the travelator speed dating. I don't think many people will show up because it's sooo last minute we've got a week and a half to tell people.
